A baby’s arrival changes everything. Right from the interiors of the house to every individual’s routine, everything changes. The major priority being keeping the baby warm, fed and dry. The skin of a newborn baby is extremely delicate and so is their overall immune system. Newborn babies are prone to skin rashes due to use of diapers and exposure to environment.
As a new parent it might be a reason for worry for you, but we have some tips that might help you give the best possible skincare for your newborn baby. The most important part of the skin care routine is keeping it minimal. Some other points to be noted are:
Avoid frequent baths for your baby. They don’t have a normal 9-5 routine and don’t need frequent baths. The only thing that needs regular cleaning is the drool and diapers which are prone to get dirty number of times. During the initial months, a sponge bath couple of times a week works best. Excess bathing causes the removal of newborns natural skin oil, making it dry and vulnerable.
Try not to use scented baby products during the initial months as they tend to irritate the babies skin.
Baby clothes should be washed with Use baby laundry detergent before usage. Ensure the detergents are free from heavy fragrances and dye.
Keep a check on the diapers as babies poop soon after eating. Ensure that they are changed immediately after being spoiled as this helps in avoiding diaper rashes. If using diaper regularly then consider using a diaper cream to prevent chafing.
Avoid exposure to sun for the first six months at all time. Post that use sunscreen 30 minutes before you take baby out in the sun.
